Active Ipswich family relish lifestyle after smooth move into new-build home

An Ipswich family, who used a market-leading housebuilder purchase scheme, are delighted with the active lifestyle they are now pursuing after moving into their new-build home.

Bryce and Sue Kelly, their son James, his girlfriend Valerie and the family Cockapoo Bertie are all enjoying their new five-bedroom house at Bovis Homes’ Ribbans Park location, on Foxhall Road.

The family, who love being close to the town centre and nearby countryside, used Bovis Homes’ Smooth Move package, which helped speed up the marketing and selling of their old home and saw Bovis Homes foot the bill for their estate agents' fees.

Bryce, a chartered engineer who has lived in the area with Sue for 30 years, said: “Bovis Homes has been excellent in supporting us through the moving process. Smooth Move helped us through some difficult times when selling our old house.

"Even when we lost our original buyers, Bovis Homes stuck by us and kept the new house reserved for us. It was more than I had expected and we're very grateful.

“The local sales advisors, Rob and Sian, have been great all the way through. They are always there to help and give good advice. They're still helping with the occasional question now we've moved in.”

Now settled in to this stunning new location, the family are making the most of the benefits that come with a new-build home.

“Having owned several houses in the past, from Victorian to Edwardian to 1930s to nearly new, I know what it takes to get a house just the way we want it - a lot of time and effort,” said Bryce. “Our new house is just what we were looking for, so it makes things easier for us all.

“The large kitchen/diner is our favourite room, it’s where everyone meets when they come home. We all love the new house. Being brand new, everything is just right and we're still getting used to how warm it is.

“As a family we like to keep fit and so are often at the gym, and when we're not doing that then we’re out walking Bertie. Sue is very into making and decorating cakes, while I hope to find a bit of time to take golf back up once I get the house decorated!

“Ribbans Park stood out above other developments. The houses are very well planned and finished. Being situated beside the golf course yet close enough to town - though you'd never know it - the location feels different to other developments in the area.”

Bryce said there was nowhere the family would rather be. He sometimes works from home and especially appreciates the new study and fibre broadband connection.

“We both work nearby, Sue can now walk to work and, for me, it’s just a few miles away,” he said. “I work from home occasionally and now have a study which is great. I love the fibre broadband, which is fast and reliable.

“I sometimes travel to London to work and, when leaving first thing in the morning, the fact the train station is only 10 minutes away, is fantastic.”
