A Swindon build manager has spoken of the pride that he and his colleagues have felt at being able to help NHS workers fighting Covid-19, after donating vital equipment to a local hospital.

Alan McCormack, Vistry Group area build manager
Build teams at Vistry Group, which includes Linden and Bovis Homes, have donated items to Great Western Hospital, after making a collection from developments in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

The equipment includes seven protection suits, 10 pairs of goggles, four face masks and 400 pairs of latex gloves, that the builders hope will make an effective contribution to help hardworking staff there.

Alan McCormack, Vistry Group area build manager, dropped the PPE at the hospital, while adhering to Government safety rules.

Alan, who lives near the hospital, said: "I was very proud to donate this much-needed equipment to Great Western Hospital. Staff at the hospital were very grateful and it was a great feeling to be able to help out where we can. We hugely admire the incredible work these NHS workers are carrying out and Vistry Group is looking to continue to support in any way the company can."

One of the key pieces of kit currently sought by those on the NHS frontline are FFP3 face masks, which are also used in the housebuilding industry.

Vistry Group, which includes Bovis Homes, Linden Homes and Vistry Partnerships, has just been awarded a five-star rating from the Home Builders Federation, following the annual announcement of the industry’s customer satisfaction survey results.
