National house builder Bovis Homes has announced that it has received approval for 89 new homes at Farindgon in Oxfordshire.

The Fernham Fields site, to the south of the town, was purchased by the company in autumn 2016 with a reserved matters application submitted shortly afterwards. Approval of this was confirmed by Vale of White Horse District Council, with the site forming part of the council's local plan.

The agreement will also see Bovis Homes contribute more than £2 million to the local community for facilities including highways improvements, public transport and leisure facilities.

Alongside the 89 new homes including apartments, as well as two, three, four and five bedroom houses.

Surpiya Ray, Managing Director of Bovis Homes' Western Region, which will deliver the homes, said: "We're delighted to have received planning permission for these much needed new homes. It comes after a period of close consultation with the district and parish councils and other local stakeholders, and we'd like to thank them for their support.  We now look forward to starting work on site at the earliest opportunity."

The first homes at Faringdon are expected to be available to purchase this summer.
