Bovis boost for Burghfield's bright stars

- 30 Nov 17

Budding young football stars in three West Berkshire teams are looking the part in their new top-of-the-range kit, after receiving a sponsorship boost from a local home builder.

All three of Burghfield's under 9 teams - the Bengals, the Buffaloes and the Broncos - are tackling this season's matches in smart new blue and white strips after a donation of more than £1,000 from Bovis Homes.

Mike Hinson, Head of Age at Burghfield under 9's, said: "We're extremely grateful to Bovis Homes for agreeing to be our new sponsor. As a grass roots club, sponsorship is vital for us as it covers the cost of the kits, which in turn means we're able to keep our fees at an affordable level and attract as many kids as possible to the beautiful game!"

"We're delighted to sponsor the teams," says regional marketing manager, Hollie Lockhart. "The players look fantastic in their new kit and we hope that it brings them lots of luck out on the football field!

"Our new Southern Counties regional office is located nearby in Basingstoke, we have other offices in Reading and new-home locations at Wokingham, Winnersh and Shinfield, so the club is right in our patch."

Burghfield FC has a range of junior, youth and men's teams and train at Burghfield Community Sports Association, Willink School, Oakbank School and the John Madejski Academy. The under 9's teams are seven-a-side and compete in the Berkshire Youth Development League.  The BYDL consists of several leagues in each age group ranging from under 7's up to under 15's and matches take place at venues in and around Reading.

Bovis Homes' nearby Shinfield Meadows, Emmbrook Place and Hatchwood Mill provide a range of two to five-bedroom homes in a variety of styles.

"There has been a lot of interest in our locations across Berkshire, and we've already welcomed many new residents," says Hollie. "There are a range of purchase assistance schemes available for all types of purchasers, from first-time buyers, families looking for more space or those who might be looking to move to a new area."
