Bovis Homes backs Bishop's Stortford Rugby Club

A local house builder and rugby club have partnered up in a sponsorship deal which will see them work together for the next two years.

Bishop's Stortford Rugby Club has secured sponsorship with Bovis Homes, who will be backing the 1st XV side that were recently promoted to National League 1 and are going from strength to strength.

"We are delighted to have partnered with the rugby club," says regional marketing manager, Candice McCabe. "The club is a major part of the Bishop's Stortford community and we are thrilled to be working with them.

"Our new location, Stortford Fields, is situated right next to the club and we're sure that many of the new residents will become keen supporters - if they aren't already!"

Bovis Homes will start work at the location later this year and will bring a range of attractive new homes to the area.

Perry Oliver, President of Bishop's Stortford Rugby Club, says: "We proudly describe ourselves as a community club, because despite possessing a 1st XV that competes at an elite level, we know our primary role as a club is to provide access to the health and wellbeing benefits of sport, in our case rugby, for everyone in our locality. Having the support of a company of Bovis Homes' stature to help us pursue that goal is incredible.
"Its new development, Stortford Fields, will become home to a lot of new BSRFC members and Bovis Homes' support means we will continue to be able to provide them all with our normal warm welcome."

As part of the partnership, Bovis Homes is sponsoring scrum-half, Sam Coleman, who has been playing at the club since he was five years old.

Sam says: "Along with my two brothers, Tom and Jack, I have played with the club for a number of years, coming through the minis, youth and into senior. Bishop's Stortford Rugby Club has been a big part of our lives and I recommend any parent in the local area to encourage their children to play rugby - especially at Bishop's Stortford!

"I'm really excited to be Bovis Homes' sponsored player and I'm looking forward to working with them over the next couple of years."
