Bovis Homes backs River Raid

- 09 May 17

The annual Hamble River Raid is returning with a splash at the weekend and this year will see Bovis Homes sponsoring the popular fund-raising Hampshire event.

The contest, which is now in its 13th year, involves rowers, canoeists, kayakers and stand up paddle boarders competing in a series of races on the Hamble River. Over 50 boats of differing styles and sizes will take to the river and travel six miles, from the Hamble Quay to the Jolly Sailor pontoon and back, with the start line this year marked with Bovis Homes flags.

"Events such as these see communities come together and celebrate the area in which they live, and we're delighted to have the chance to sponsor this year's competition," says Candice McCabe, Regional Marketing Manager for Bovis Homes. "It's a great day out, brings people of all ages together and raises money for worthy causes."

Since 2005, when the River Raid was established, the event has raised significant funds for the Hamble Sea Scouts, as well as other local charities and organisations.

"We welcome and thank Bovis Homes for backing the Hamble River Raid and getting involved with the local community," says Andy Cunningham, one of the event organisers. "As one competitor said, 'the Hamble River Raid has become a serious sporting event supported and put on by the local community, without losing the element of fun that embraces all ages and skills.'"

Bovis Homes' location in Bursledon is within walking distance from the River Hamble. With a range of new homes from two to six-beds available, Hamble View has been popular with local house buyers and has already welcomed many new residents.

Hamble View's two show homes, the five-bedroom Winchester and the four-bedroom Canterbury are open daily from 10am to 5pm. For further information about the new homes, please ring 02381 661072, visit www.bovishomes.co.uk or pop into the sales centre.
