Bovis Homes bringing more affordable homes to Bicester

- 24 Jul 17

House builder Bovis Homes has received detailed planning consent for 207 new homes at the popular Kingsmere location in Bicester. The plans include provision for a number of much-needed homes designated as 'affordable' properties.

The plans were approved by Cherwell District Council, and will include 67 properties allocated as affordable. These will be managed by a housing association and could include a variety of tenures such as shared ownership and social rent, aimed at eligible local people whose needs are not met by the open market.

This new phase will also include a Local Area for Play (LAP) designed for the enjoyment of younger children, and will be located close to attractive areas of public open space and the commercial centre that is being provided as part of the wider masterplan.

The site team will start work on delivering these new homes once the current Bovis Homes phase at Kingsmere, which is nearing conclusion, is complete.

Paul Stafford, Managing Director of Bovis Homes West Midlands region, said: "We are pleased to have taken this next step in bringing more new homes to our attractive and popular Kingsmere location.

"It is another important milestone for Kingsmere and this approval is the result of close collaboration with the local community and the Council, and we're confident these new homes will be a positive addition to the already thriving community here. We plan to begin work on the new plots in October with the first customers ideally moving in during spring 2018."

The approval follows on from a similar decision on the next phase of homes at Bovis Homes' Heyford Park location in nearby Upper Heyford.
