Local housebuilder Bovis Homes has completed the purchase of land in Kent, which will see the company build 200 new homes.

The site at Gravesend received planning consent in 2018 and forms part of a joint scheme with Persimmon Homes that will see Bovis Homes delivering 140 properties for the open market, and a further 60 allocated as.

Doug Law, regional land director for Bovis Homes‘ South East region, said: “We’re delighted to have secured the purchase of this land and our team is looking forward to getting started on site, delivering these much-needed new homes.

“Alongside our current developments at Barming, Headcorn, Staplehurst and Faversham, and our upcoming sites at Peter’s Village and Ash, this site is at the centre of a key area for Bovis Homes, in close proximity to our national headquarters at King’s Hill.”

The housebuilder plans to begin work on site imminently, with the first residents expected to move in before the end of the year.

Planning consent for the homes was unanimously approved in July 2018 by Gravesham Borough Council's planning committee, and includes Section 106 contributions towards education, highways, social services and sport and leisure facilities.

As well as the new homes, the plans will see the delivery of three play areas for children of various ages, and new country park.
