Bovis Homes makes a perfect proposal for Oliver and Laura

Oliver Bennett and his partner Laura found the right location to bring their family together at Bovis Homes' Warwick Gates development in Warwick and it even proved the perfect place for a grand proposal.

Oliver, who works in the Special Vehicle Operations team at Jaguar Land Rover and Laura who is an Events Manager for a company in nearby Stratford-upon-Avon began their search for a new home in September 2016.

"Up until that point we had been living separately, but wanted to buy a new home together, for us, my two boys, Samuel, 12 and Max aged 10, and our 18-month old Labrador Leia," said Oliver.

"We were looking for something that we could make our own mark on. Our key requirements were a bright open plan kitchen, a room each for the boys, who had been sharing up until then, and a nice sunny garden, as we love a good barbeque!

"We decided we wanted a new home too in order to take advantage of the Government's Help to Buy equity loan. Using the scheme meant we could afford a bigger home than we had originally thought," he added.

Oliver and his sons had been living a mile up the road in Bishop's Tachbrook, so the family were keen to stay close by for the boys' schooling. As a result, they were drawn to the new homes being built at Warwick Gates.

"We spoke to a number of house builders locally, as well as others at this location but we found the Bovis Homes team by far the most professional, knowledgeable and friendly out of them all. Any questions we had were answered quickly, it was clear that they knew what they were talking about," said Laura.

Having discussed their options with the sales team, they settled on a 5-bedroom detached Oxford house type, which comes with a handy study and utility area downstairs as well as fitted wardrobes and an en suite off the master bedroom upstairs. The family had reserved in time for Christmas, and moved in three months later.

And if selling two houses, buying another and moving with two children and a dog wasn't enough, Oliver decided to ask Laura a very important question.

"On our first night in our new home, I thought it would be the perfect time to ask Laura to marry me. And thankfully she said yes! It's been a very hectic few weeks!"

"We've got just a couple more boxes left to unpack and then we'll be back to our normal routine of football and rugby with the boys, lots of baking and exercising the dog," said Oliver.
