- 07 Nov 17

Bovis Homes' Strategic Land team has received detailed planning approval for 129 new homes in Thurston, Suffolk.

The approval comes after months of close collaboration and discussion with Mid-Suffolk District Council, the Highways Authority, and other housebuilders with new-home proposals in the area. The development will be located off Barton Road to the north west of the village boosting the District's supply of housing.

Victoria Trotman, Associate Strategic Planning Director at Bovis Homes said: "We're delighted to have received approval for these much-needed new homes, and would like to thank all those who gave feedback on our proposals.

"We have worked closely with the council and other developers to ensure a comprehensive approach to transport and education mitigation is secured. We now look forward to taking the project forward in the coming months and delivering these homes for the benefit of the whole community in Thurston."

The plans for the site include public open space and 35% of homes allocated for affordable housing. Work is expected to start on-site in early 2019.
