National house builder Bovis Homes has received detailed planning consent for the next phase of its development at Heyford Park, Upper Heyford - including a number of specially designated 'affordable homes' for local people.

The plans, which were approved by Cherwell District Council, include 68 much-needed new properties - of which 24 are allocated as affordable homes, which could have a mix of tenures such as social rent or shared ownership. The plans also include provision for a play area with visitor parking. The construction of these homes will follow on from those already delivered at this popular development.

Paul Stafford, Managing Director of Bovis Homes West Midlands region, said: We're delighted to have planning permission to bring the next phase of our popular Heyford Park development to fruition. It comes after an extensive period of consultation and cooperation with local stakeholders, including Historic England, as well as members of the public.

"These much-needed new homes will add to the already thriving community at the hugely popular Heyford Park location."

The Heyford Park site is situated in the former RAF base of Upper Heyford, approximately five miles to the west of Bicester and sits within close proximity to the M40 and the River Cherwell.

It is expected that construction of the first plots will begin in September with customers moving in from March 2018.
