Bovis Homes supports local good causes with Saltway Nursery

- 28 Jun 15

Bovis Homes has teamed up with a local nursery and injected a cash boost into two projects to improve life in Bodicote village.

Bovis Homes are supporting the initiatives, organised by Saltway Day Nursery, to help sow the seeds for an improved village flowerbed, as well as a life-saving defibrillator.

The nursery decided to plough something back into the local community to celebrate its 20th anniversary this year.

Bovis Homes handed over £250 to support the nursery and its plans to re-plant the village flowerbed, which in recent years started to look a little tired. Green-fingered local folk, children and parents dug out their trowels and helped make it an area to be proud of. The flowerbed is now complete and can be enjoyed by the whole village. Staff and children from the nursery will help to water and maintain the plot.

A further £250 donation from Bovis Homes will go towards the nursery's project, in partnership with Bodicote Parish Council, to provide a village defibrillator (which will cost £2,000) to be accessible to all the local community and linked to the Ambulance Service.

Kate O'Connor, Principal at Saltway Day Nursery, said: "To celebrate our 20th year we wanted to get involved in doing something positive and giving something back to the local community. These are two very worthy local causes and we are really grateful to Bovis Homes for supporting us in bringing them to fruition."

Julie Hartshorne, Area Sales Manager at Bovis Homes, added: "We are extremely proud to be backing these two fantastic projects and providing support to the area. We have two developments, Longford Park and Wellington Park, nearby so we wanted to find a way to show our commitment to the local community."
