- 25 Sep 18

Housebuilder Bovis Homes has joined forces with Clarion Housing Group, to deliver more much-needed new homes at Sherford, Devon.

The agreement will see the two companies form a new Joint Venture, Bovis Latimer (Sherford) LLP, which will build approximately 1,500 new homes at the Plymouth site over the next 15-20 years.

Bovis Homes have been involved with the development of Sherford, a new community of 5,500 homes, schools, shops and businesses, for eight years and has a range of properties for sale on the open market at the location.

The new deal with Clarion’s development company Latimer, will see the two companies combine their respective expertise to maximise the delivery and quality of the new homes at Sherford.

Dave Farley, regional managing director of Bovis Homes’ South West region, said: “We’re delighted to have reached this agreement with Clarion Housing Group and look forward to starting work with the new Joint Venture. This partnership reaffirms Bovis Homes’ commitment to the ongoing development of Sherford and means we will see more, much-needed, homes being built and more new residents moving into the community in the coming months.

“Clarion is one of the largest housing providers in the country and are therefore a great partner to have on this project. We look forward to working with them at Sherford for many years to come.”

Richard White, Director of Land and Planning for Clarion Housing Group, said: “We are very excited to be working with Bovis Homes to deliver 1,500 much-needed homes in Sherford.

“At Clarion we aim to deliver 50,000 new homes over ten years and to achieve this aim we want to work in partnership with organisations, like Bovis Homes, who share our passion for placemaking and quality.

“Along with our regeneration plans at Barne Barton this scheme also underlines our commitment to delivering high-quality, new homes in Plymouth and the surrounding areas.”

Bovis Latimer will begin work together immediately, with the first construction work undertaken by the new business set to begin in the next phase of construction at Sherford later this year.
