Bovis Homes to seek community views as it targets 2019 for latest West Sussex homes

- 31 Oct 18

Housebuilder Bovis Homes has moved a step closer with plans to deliver 108 new homes in the village of Yapton, West Sussex, after agreeing a deal to purchase new land there.

The site, located off Burndell Road, currently has outline planning permission, and Bovis Homes will now begin the process of designing a development for the site which reflects and enhances the character of the surrounding area ahead of submitting a detailed reserved matters application before the end of the year.

Sharon Eckford, associate land director for Bovis Homes’ Southern Counties region, said: “We’re delighted to have taken this important step on the road to delivering these much-needed new homes, and look forward to working closely with local stakeholders to ensure the plans best suit the needs of the existing community.

“Our plans for Yapton will focus on a range of two and three-bedroom family homes, and will consist entirely of our brand-new housing range, which has been designed to maximise the use of space and light, while embracing modern design and styling.

As part of the proposals, a number of properties will be allocated as affordable homes, to be managed by a local housing association. There will also be areas of public open space and significant financial contributions made by Bovis Homes towards local infrastructure.

The housebuilder has a longstanding presence in West Sussex, with current locations at Littlehampton, Worthing, and the newly launched ‘The Maples’ in Crawley.

Should Bovis Homes be successful in their detailed planning application, they hope to begin work on site during spring 2019.
