Brand-new Kenilworth development welcomes delighted first residents

- 21 Jan 21

Reserving their home at an open day, Ed Barber and Liv Clinton-Carter were not only the first customers to reserve on Bovis Homes’ Pavilions development in Kenilworth but also the first homeowners to complete and move in. They’re now pleased to be joined by friendly neighbours who are settling into their new homes nearby. After keeping an eye on the location for a while, the couple, along with their adorable cockapoo Pete, moved into their new home at the end of last year. Liv, who works in procurement for Severn Trent Water, grew up in Coventry while Ed, a personal trainer, has always lived in the town. Speaking about their move during the Government lockdown, Ed said: “We’ve known about the location ever since it had planning permission. We went to the open day at Chesford Grange and we reserved on that day. My mum and dad live down the road – we lived with them until we moved in.” “I was going on runs past the development every day and could see how the build was progressing. “Our experience has been really good – we really can’t fault it. No-one could have legislated what’s happened in the past year. All the builders on site have been really nice and every workman that’s come into the house has gone above and beyond. “The site manager has been amazing as well. We’re comfortable enough to speak to him and the build team directly and their responses have always been prompt.” This was the pair’s second new-build home and they’ve both been pleased with the spacious, open plan layout the three-bedroom Spruce offers. “We love how light every room is,” said Ed. “When we’ve been able to have people over, we’ve been in the kitchen mostly as it offers that space to entertain while, if it’s the two of us, we’ll spend our time in the lounge.” Liv added: “The lounge is definitely my favourite room and I love how spacious the bedrooms are. We’ve also been really happy with the spec of the house and love the upgraded flooring and downlighting.” Making the most out of time spent at home, the couple have been busy settling in and decorating – Ed has even transformed their garage into a home gym! “As well as my job, personal training is my hobby. We have a good-sized garage and, instead of letting the space go to waste, I thought I would make use out of it.” “We’re fully done – we’ve even done the garden,” adds Liv. “We took a week off work when we moved in which gave us plenty of time to get everything sorted and, with everything that’s going on at the moment, we’ve had the opportunity to really enjoy it.” Although the pair haven’t been able to enjoy what Kenilworth’s town centre has to offer yet – which is less than half a mile from The Pavilions development – they’ve been able to explore the stunning countryside on their doorstep with their dog, Pete. “We’re surrounded by beautiful countryside,” said Liv. “We’ve been able to go on some lovely walks. Once it’s finished, we’re also looking forward to being able to take him on a walk along the pathway on the development.” The Pavilions offers one to five-bedroom family homes and is located next to Kenilworth Cricket Club on Warwick Road.
