Budding football stars in Burghfield kick-off in brand-new kit thanks to housebuilder

Budding young football stars in two East Berkshire teams have kicked off the new season in brand-new kit thanks to local housebuilder Bovis Homes. The Burghfield under 12s Rangers and Tridents received a donation from Bovis Homes – part of Vistry Group – which the teams used to pay for new football kits, sporting the housebuilder’s logo. Mike Hinson, head of year for Burghfield under 12s, said: "We’re very grateful for the donation from Bovis Homes. The contribution helps us to keep our annual fees low so that as many children as possible have the opportunity to take part at our club. “The new kit will be used for the next two years and the kids thought they were fantastic. Top of the range kit like this really helps to boost morale and team spirit – they certainly started the season looking very professional. “This year has been a challenging one for all of us. Due to Covid-19, the teams were unable to play from March through to the start of the season in September, missing out on the end of last season as well as the entire Summer League. So, this new kit has helped us have a fresh start.” Alix Laflin, regional marketing manager in Bovis Homes Thames Valley region, added: “We are delighted to support the Burghfield teams – we know how essential clubs like this are to community spirit and we wish all the under 12s the best of luck this season!” Bovis Homes' nearby Shinfield Meadows, Emmbrook Place and Hatchwood Mill provide a range of two to five-bedroom homes in a variety of styles.
