Buyers benefit this Christmas with shared ownership scheme

A local housebuilder is celebrating the recent Government announcement that first-time buyers are exempt from stamp duty when using shared ownership by treating buyers who reserve and move in before Christmas.

Bovis Homes is inviting house hunters to visit its locations across the West Midlands on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th November to find out more about its Home Reach scheme, and for a limited time, buyers can reserve for just £99.

“Christmas has come early for those looking to get on the housing ladder,” says Paul Bennison, regional marketing manager. “Buyers using our Home Reach scheme could save thousands as they are now exempt from stamp duty! To celebrate this, not only have we reduced our reservation fee to just £99, but at some locations, we’ll also include the flooring - which means it will be an extra special Christmas this year.”

The Home Reach scheme, in partnership with residential housing provider heylo, is a part-buy part-rent option, which provides an affordable way to get on the housing ladder. With all the benefits of owning your own home, this option allows you to decide how much you would like to buy, with shares between 50 per cent and 75 per cent. On the share you don’t own, you will pay rent of 2.75 per cent and you can increase your level of ownership at any time.

“We’ll have a range of experts on hand at our Home Reach event providing information about the part-buy part-rent scheme,” says Paul. “If you’re looking to buy your first home – it’s worth popping in to enjoy some lunch and a glass of prosecco while you find out more about the scheme.”
