Chester military site's transformation almost complete

- 13 Jan 17

Over the past four years, a Chester location has been transformed from a former military training facility into an attractive and popular new part of the community.

With properties ranging from two-bedroom coach houses to five-bedroom family homes, good commuter links and easy access to Chester city centre, Crown Park has had no problem attracting buyers - and there are now only three Bovis Homes available there.

Previously the site of Saighton Camp, a war memorial is situated at the main entrance to Crown Park as a reminder of the location's history. Saighton Camp was built just before the Second World War and was mainly used as a military training facility until it finally closed in 1999. The memorial, which was designed in partnership with Huntington Parish Council and funded by Bovis Homes and its development partners, was unveiled by the Duke of Westminster on Remembrance Sunday in 2014.

Bovis Homes Sales Advisor, Annette Slinn, has welcomed many residents to the location over the past few years. "Crown Park is a very popular location and a real community spirit has developed here," she says "If you are looking to move, it's worth popping in to see us while we're still here, to find out more about the final three homes before they get snapped up!"

The remaining Bovis Homes are the three-bedroom Southwold, four-bedroom Fleming and the five-bedroom Aldbury, each built to a traditional high standard in a contemporary style.

"Customers are often surprised to see how much more they get for their money with a Bovis Home," explains Annette. "What many other house builders call extras, we include as standard. For example, integrated appliances, such as a hob, oven, fridge-freezer and washing machine are all included within the price."

To help buyers secure their new home at Crown Park, Bovis Homes offers a variety of purchase assistance schemes, for first-time buyers and existing home owners alike.

Help to Buy Equity is a Government-backed scheme exclusive to new-build properties, where the buyer receives an equity loan for 20% of the price of the home and only requires a 5% deposit, so can access the lower rates of a 75% mortgage. With Home Exchange, Bovis Homes could buy your old house to save you from estate agents' costs and stressful property chains.

In a link with the site's military past, Bovis Homes is also currently running a special Armed Forces Discount Scheme to offer a simple and affordable buying solution for serving members of the UK Forces.

The homes at Crown Park come with a 10-year NHBC warranty and there is also a two-year guarantee from Bovis Homes, managed by a regional Customer Care team who are available to provide advice and direct assistance.

The sales centre at Crown Park is open Thursday to Monday between 10am and 5pm. Call the sales team on 07966 209911 or visit www.bovishomes.co.uk for more information.
