Children’s charity recognises national housebuilder’s £4k donation

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) has recognised the support provided by national housebuilder Bovis Homes.

During 2019, Bovis Homes raised £4,175 for the charity that provides support for life-threatened children.

Victoria Matthews, corporate fundraiser at EACH, said: “EACH would like to thank Bovis Homes for their support in 2019, it was fantastic to have them as our partner for the Ipswich Town Zip Slide event which raised a record amount! This money raised will help us to continue to provide vital services for local life-threatened children, young people and their families.

“The £4,175 donation could fund 20 sessions of memory box making, allowing families to create precious memories of their child, which is invaluable.”

Bovis Homes colleagues have completed several activities this year to raise money for EACH. Earlier in 2019, Bovis Homes employees took part in a special zip slide event at Ipswich Town Football club where they had the backing of team manager Paul Lambert!

This combined with staff collecting and donating bags of clothing, shoes, books, DVDs and toys for ‘Bring it, Bag it, Boost it’, with more than 200 bags donated to the Hospice’s charity shops. Each bag donated is worth at least £10 to the charity.

Clare Dolton, marketing assistant in Bovis Homes South East region, added: “EACH is such an amazing charity and provides vital support to people in East Anglia.

“We are thrilled to be able to support them with their work and feel very privileged to be recognised for the help with have provided.”

EACH provides support across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and their families.
Specialist round-the-clock care and support for life-threatened children in one county costs the charity about £5,600 per day so donations are vital.
