Downsizers and families snap up five-bedroom new-build homes in Steeple Claydon

Home buyers wanting to be close to good schools and who enjoy working from home are among those snapping up large new-build properties at a Steeple Claydon location.

Couples, downsizers and families have been purchasing Bovis Homes - part of the newly-formed Vistry Group - five-bedroom houses at Nightingale Fold, off North End Road.

Those who buy the Arundel house type will have their stamp duty paid. The detached property has an open-plan kitchen with a family area and French doors to the back garden. There is a ground floor study and upstairs, bedroom one has an en suite and built-in wardrobe. The second bedroom also has an en suite.

There are purchasing assistance schemes available at Nightingale Fold, including the housebuilder’s Home Exchange and Smooth Move, plus the Government’s Help to Buy – Equity Loan.

Yvonne Welch, Bovis Homes sales advisor at Nightingale Fold, said: “We’re very fond of Nightingale Fold, which is proving very popular with different types of house buyers.

“We have young and elderly couples here, big families, and downsizers. A lot of people work from home and there are decent primary and secondary state schools, plus private schools, nearby.”

There are also five-bedroom Ascot, Truro and Ansell house types available and visitors can take a tour of an Ascot show home. There is only one Ansell left to buy at the location.

Steeple Claydon has a supermarket, bakery, post office, fish and chip shop and pubs. There is also a nursery, doctor's surgery and dentist. The village was once home to nursing icon Florence Nightingale.

Bovis Homes’ Home Exchange initiative sees the housebuilder buying the customer's current property, which means they can avoid all those estate agent fees and time-consuming, stress-building house chains. It also means that purchasers can stay in their current house until their new home is ready.

To part-exchange their home, a customer’s current property must be valued at no more than 75 per cent of the new Bovis Home they wish to purchase. Bovis Homes will arrange for the buyer's property to be valued, then make them an offer based on the valuation.

Alternatively, buyers looking to sell their home can take advantage of the housebuilder’s Smooth Move scheme, which can save time and thousands of pounds, with the home builder liaising with the estate agent on the customer's behalf, as well as paying the fees.

With the Help to Buy – Equity Loan scheme, home buyers need just a five per cent cash deposit, with the Government providing an equity loan of up to 20 per cent of the value of the property being bought. Purchasers then need to secure up to a 75 per cent mortgage.
