The boss of an award-winning care home – and his canine colleague – are loving their new-build property in the Oxfordshire village of Stadhampton.

Sanjay Dhrona was born and raised in London but moved to Bovis Homes' Hampton Meadow location in July 2019. He was the first resident to move into the new development. To see a video of Sanjay describing why he loves his new-build home so much, visit Bovis Homes' YouTube channel.

He moved to Oxfordshire with his four-year-old dog Louis, a Jack Russell and Chihuahua cross, who is a therapy dog for the residents of the nearby Close Care Home, where Sanjay is managing director.

In fact, their relocation to Stadhampton was spurred by a desire to be closer to the care home, which in 2018 won the Best Individual Care Home award in the Care Home Awards.

The duo are really enjoying the layout of their three-bed detached Epsom property, and have been entertaining visitors almost every weekend since moving in, which is ideal for Sanjay who loves hosting his family and friends.

But that’s not all Sanjay is enjoying about his new home: “The community we are creating here is so lovely. Stadhampton is an exceptional place in any case, but Hampton Meadow has an amazing, diverse mix of residents. We all regularly chat outside while the dogs play - it’s really welcoming, and everyone is so kind.

“The Bovis Homes’ sales team were a fantastic support too and so helpful, really going above and beyond.

“The area is ideal for my work and lifestyle, so I knew I wanted to live around here. But when I started my house search, I found that so many properties were cottages. Being six foot four, the headroom can be issue - but that is not the case with my amazing new-build.

“Being a new home also meant that it was a blank space – clean and untouched – so I was able to put my personal design stamp on the place. I have based the upstairs on a mid-century, Soho house style, installing a picture rail and combining my eclectic art collection, while keeping downstairs a little retro.

“The proximity to Oxford and great public transport links is wonderful too. Plus, as a keen traveller, the fact I can get to Heathrow airport in 45 minutes is ideal!”
