Essington first-timers move out of parents’ homes and into new-build with perfect kitchen

A young couple in Essington, who share a love for cooking, have moved out of their parents’ places and into their first home thanks to a Government initiative.

First-time buyers Sam Davies, 30 and Lucy Radford, 25, moved into a three-bedroom, semi-detached property at Bovis Homes’ The Steadings location, off Hobnock Road.

The cooking enthusiasts - who attended a Bovis Homes open event complete with a stilt walker for entertainment - are delighted to have their own kitchen to entertain guests.

They also praised the housebuilder for supporting them with the Help to Buy - Equity Loan scheme.

Sam, who grew up in the area, said: “We've both been living with parents, so it’s nice to have our own space. We love the kitchen, it’s fantastic - we both enjoy cooking and it's also got the communal aspect of the dining area.

“We really couldn't have wished for a better moving process. Everyone at Bovis Homes and every company associated with our move has been fantastic. The Help to Buy scheme has been a great support to us, perfect for getting on the property ladder.

“What attracted us most about The Steadings is the location, it’s just right for the commute and near to our friends. We both enjoy spending time with friends and family outside of work and look forward to being able to welcome them into our new home to make new memories.”

Using the Help to Buy – Equity Loan scheme, home buyers need just a five per cent cash deposit, with the Government providing an equity loan of up to 20 per cent of the value of the property being bought. Purchasers then need to secure up to a 75 per cent mortgage.
