Exciting times for South West

- 08 Jan 14

Founded back in 1885, Bovis Homes is one of the most experienced house builders on the block - but in 2014 its focus is on constructing an exciting future for the company on the South West peninsular.

Already active in Devon on developments in DawlishPaignton and Teignmouth - and with new offices near Exeter - this promises to be another active year, reflecting the feel-good factor in the region.

Regional Sales Director Wayne Bennett said: "This area has historically been a heartland for us, and having been away for a few years, we're delighted to be back and building quality new homes across the West Country.

"I see 2014 as being a great year for home buyers here and we're excited to be a part of it. While we can offer the great choice, design and quality, we leave it to this highly desirable part of the country to provide the superb locations in which we are so lucky to live.

"From the customer point of view this is a time of opportunity. As well as the wide range of properties available, all types of homebuyers now have access to some excellent purchase assistance schemes - like Help to Buy - to complement these historically low interest rates. Bovis also takes pride in offering an industry-leading specification.

"We've certainly been delighted with the way sales have gone on our developments, which are quickly becoming attractive and integral new parts of their respective communities."

Nickelby Place in Dawlish is a case in point, where a second phase has been launched with a new all-inclusive specification. The 118-home development is due to be completed in 2015 with around a quarter of those homes already occupied.

Meanwhile Elberry Gardens in Paignton also benefits from the new improved specification which Bovis Homes is rolling out across the region. Construction started in September, with the first customers moving in before Christmas.

In Teignmouth, Marine View is proving to be a major success story for builder and customer alike. With its stunning coastal location, Wayne is expecting the impressive sales rate to be maintained throughout the year.

"We're going to be busy in 2014, without a doubt," said Wayne. "As well as our current developments in Devon, we will be bringing our distinctive Bovis Homes quality to Chudleigh with an intimate 48-home development called Tors Reach on the edge of the beautiful Teign Valley.

"And at the other end of the scale we will form a significant part of the creation of Sherford, the new town to the west of the county, which promises to be a tremendous opportunity for all new home buyers.

"Much has been made of the £2bn boost it will be contribute to the economy, but above all else, it will change many lives for the better by increasing the local housing stock and providing opportunities for lots of people to buy a new home - many for the first time."
