Expanding Blaxills are part of the Bovis family!

Simon and Louise Blaxill are well acquainted with Bovis Homes, having first purchased a new home from the company in Romsey, Hampshire in 2013.

But as their family expanded, with two-year old daughter Lilly set to be joined by a baby sibling in time for Christmas 2016, they decided to move to another, bigger Bovis Home.

"We bought a three-bed Southwold at Bovis Homes' Abbotswood location almost four years ago, but with a growing family, we wanted more living space," explains Louise. "The great service we received and the ease of moving into a new build first time around made buying another new home a very attractive option.

"We decided to stay on this development because of the good schools close by and because of the quality of the Bovis homes." she adds.

"We had a frustrating experience when we started looking. We had reserved another Bovis home, but our buyer pulled out of the purchase and we lost the reservation. The Bovis team were really understanding. They said if we sold our house again, to contact sales advisor Tracy to see what other homes were available for us."

Eventually things fell into place for the family and they reserved a Horton housetype on a later phase of the development.

The three-bedroom Horton is a three-storey townhouse that comes with fully-fitted kitchen, integrated appliances, a family room and dining area. There is a first-floor living room with Juliette balcony and en suite and built-in wardrobes in bedroom one.

Because they chose another new home, the family were also able to take advantage of the Government's Help to Buy Equity scheme. Under the scheme, the buyer requires just a five per cent deposit, with the Government providing an equity loan - interest-free for the first five years - of 20% of the property's value. The buyer can then access a 75% mortgage, opening the door to more competitive lending rates.

"The sales team guided us through the Help to Buy process brilliantly, and also helped us to take advantage of the company's Smooth Move assistance scheme to sell our existing property.

"Tracy and Colin in the sales office were outstanding and with us every step of the way. We were updated regularly, there was always someone to answer any questions we had and they made the process a whole lot easier," says Louise.

The family were in their new home in time for Christmas. But not before they'd been joined by baby Spencer, born a week earlier.

"We're settling in well," says Louise. "The house is lovely and we'd recommend Bovis Homes one hundred percent to anyone thinking of buying a new home."
