Families hail East Hanney new-builds, says build manager-as show home launches

- 16 Jan 20

An area build manager in East Hanney says a housebuilder’s new property collection is drawing families to the village, ahead of a show home launch at the location.

Alan McCormack, of Bovis Homes, said the company’s latest housing range – which focus on well-proportioned exteriors with a real sense of light and flow on the inside – is proving a hit with house hunters at its The Silk Mill development.

Bovis Homes – part of the newly formed Vistry Group – is opening the Grenadier family show home on 31st January.

Speaking from The Silk Mill, Alan said: “We’ve got
impressive stone and brick houses with timber frames at The Silk Mill and a popular three-bedroom property with grey cladding.

“Families appreciate the wonderful exteriors and spacious interiors of our homes here - we’re all very excited about the impact our new housing range is having and the feedback we’re receiving from house buyers.”

Bovis Homes’ new housing collection, which includes two to five-bedroom homes that have been designed and developed by the company, are named after British trees.

Properties include the five-bedroom Grenadier, which boasts a stylish, open-plan kitchen/family area with a kitchen island; a rear-facing sitting room; a study; master bedroom with a dressing area and en suite; plus, outside, a double garage.

Also, a four-bedroom Gilliflower with a family area; a separate sitting room; French doors to the back garden; a study; and impressive bedrooms. Plus, a three-bedroom Ribston, with an open-plan kitchen and dining area, with French doors to the back garden; and a master bedroom with an en suite and built-in wardrobe.

Charlie Bond, Bovis Homes area sales manager, added properties at The Silk Mill were in high demand due to their location – and more elderly buyers were purchasing too.

“The Grenadier is a wonderful property and we can’t wait to take house hunters around the new show home,” Charlie said. “It has large windows to the front and bi-fold French doors to the back, making it exceptionally light and spacious for families.

“East Hanney is a great village, it’s rural and has decent transport links. It’s a 15-minute drive from Didcot Parkway railway station, 30 minutes from Junction 5 of the M4 and Heathrow Airport is just over an hour away.

“There are some fabulous schools nearby as well, which is a big factor for families buying here.”

Home Exchange is available at The Silk Mill. The Bovis Homes purchasing scheme sees the
housebuilder buying the customer's current property, which means they can avoid all those estate agent fees and time-consuming, stress-building house chains. It also means that purchasers can stay in their current house until their new home is ready.

To part-exchange their home, a customer’s current property must be valued at no more than 75 per cent of the new Bovis Home they wish to purchase. Bovis Homes will arrange for the buyer's property to be valued, then make them an offer based on the valuation.

Show homes at The Silk Mill are open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm. The location has two, three, four and five-bedroom homes to buy.

Bovis Homes also has properties to purchase at East Gate in Wantage, Townsend Place in
Shrivenham and Faringdon Fields in Faringdon.
