First Bovis Homes released at Sherford

- 07 Nov 16

Bovis Homes are opening the doors of the much-anticipated inaugural show homes at Sherford, providing a first glimpse into the design and lifestyle offered by the new town, as well as giving Devon house seekers the opportunity to be amongst the first to reserve a home there.

The house builder is inviting the public to its launch event on Saturday 19 November to see its two stunning show homes and find out more about the brand new community being built by Bovis Homes and fellow consortium partners.

Located between Plymouth and the South Hams, Sherford has been designed with sustainability and community at its heart, bringing 5,500 new homes to the area as well as schools, local amenities and leisure facilities, creating a town where residents can work, live and shop. With acres of open space and woodland, Sherford provides a blend of rural and urban living with classic architecture, and is set to become one of the most thriving and social market towns in the South West.

"We're excited to finally be opening the doors to the public and reaching this momentous milestone," says Wayne Bennett, South West Sales and Marketing Director for Bovis Homes. "Sherford has generated a huge amount of interest in the local housing market, and we're thrilled that people now have the chance to come and have a look, and reserve a home here.

"It's been over two decades in the planning, and this is a big moment in the town's history. I'm sure there will be many buyers eager to be part of the Sherford story!"

The first homes to be released for sale at the launch event are two, four and six bedroom houses, with three and five-bedroom properties available to buy later this year. Named after local areas of interest, the homes are built to a traditional standard, but to suit today's lifestyle.

The two show homes highlight the quality that Bovis Homes will be bringing to Sherford. In a stunning townhouse-style, the six-bed 'Kiln' provides spacious living for a modern-day family. The three-storey home has large Georgian-style windows making the rooms light and airy as well as bringing character to the property. The house has a contemporary kitchen which includes built-in appliances and a separate dining room with French doors leading out into the garden. The large sitting room provides space for family living and entertaining guests. Upstairs, two of the bedrooms have en suites and built-in wardrobes and there is a family bathroom on the first and second floor.

Next door is the 'Heybrook', a three-storey, four-bed home which has a separate kitchen and dining room downstairs. The large space, which includes French doors leading out into the garden, can also be used as a family room. Upstairs, there is a large, bright sitting room, two bedrooms and a family bathroom. On the third floor, there are two good-size bedrooms, both with en suites.

"The show homes will give visitors a real taste of the style and quality of our houses," continues Wayne. "By reserving now, buyers can see the progress of their own home and will have the chance to choose a variety of fixtures and fittings, making their house a home before they even move in. And with extras included as standard with a Bovis Home, integrated appliances such as a fridge-freezer, washing machine and dishwasher could all be included within the price."

The homes will be ready for the first Sherford residents to move in early next year, and the town will begin its first steps towards becoming a thriving, modern community.

The show homes and sales centre will be open daily between 10am and 5pm from Saturday 19 November.
