First-time buyers and key workers enquire about Lichfield new-build homes location

First-time buyers and families – including key workers – are enquiring about properties at a national housebuilder’s Lichfield location in droves due to strong community and transport links.

Purchasers are using Bovis Homes’ key workers initiative or the Government’s Help to Buy scheme to buy starter and family homes at the housebuilder’s Roman Heights development, off Burton Road.

Attractions include a brand-new primary school on the location and the development being only a 10-minute walk to Lichfield Trent Valley rail station, which offers a short commute to Birmingham and is also perfect for those wanting to escape city life.

Bovis Homes is looking to recognise the army of volunteers in the county who have recently signed up to help the NHS, by offering them a special house buying package too, which will run until the end of the year.

The housebuilder already runs an attractive purchasing package for key workers, which has now been extended to include all those who have signed up for the recent NHS volunteer scheme – as well as all those newly-classified by the Government as key workers in the battle against the coronavirus.

The company has been looking to support the national effort to combat COVID-19, actively encouraging staff who are not at work to volunteer, and helping to organise collections of critical medical kit to hospitals in different parts of the country.

The extended scheme is in place for the rest of 2020 which means that when restrictions are lifted and the country is in a happier place, hopefully sooner rather than later, those who were part of the effort will still be able to benefit and buy a new home with these added money-saving features.

The first step in Bovis Homes' safety drive to meet Government guidelines and welcome visitors back to developments, has been to introduce an appointment-only booking system to reinforce social distancing measures and limit the number of people in the sales office or car park at the same time.

Only two visitors from the same household are allowed on each visit, and if customers arrive early, they are encouraged to stay in their car until the appointment time.

Once inside, there is clear signage and marking to enable social distancing, plus screens and hand sanitisers to provide added physical protection.

Using the Help to Buy – Equity Loan scheme, home buyers need just a five per cent cash deposit, with the Government providing an equity loan of up to 20 per cent of the value of the property being bought. Purchasers then need to secure up to a 75 per cent mortgage.

Those who purchase a property at Roman Heights will have kitchen appliances included in the price. Further offers include stamp duty being paid, plus £1,000 off legal fees.
