Five-star housebuilder back in Bedfordshire town with plans for 150 homes

- 24 Sep 20

A five-star national housebuilder has purchased land in a Bedfordshire town with outline planning consent for 150 homes, with work set to start later this year. Bovis Homes – part of the newly-formed Vistry Group – has acquired the parcel of land, in Shefford, and has submitted a reserved matters application to Central Bedfordshire Council. The one to five-bedroom properties, off Hitchin Road, will include 53 affordable homes. The move marks a continuation of Bovis Homes’ presence in the town, with its successful Campton Fields development, off Campton Road, having just one property left to buy. It is the housebuilder's fourth development in the town in the last ten years. Tom Wheeler, regional land director at Bovis Homes, said: "This new Shefford location will offer us continuity within the town after Campton Fields completes later this year. This will be our fourth development in Shefford during the past decade, so it is definitely a market and location we understand well, which is a great benefit for us and local home buyers. "Thank you to everyone who has helped with this important acquisition for Bovis Homes, having such knowledge and experience of the town. These quality new-build homes will bring more much-needed affordable properties to Shefford, offering quality and spacious layouts for modern living, for all types of home buyers." Bovis Homes was awarded its five-star rating for quality and service by its own customers through the Home Builders Federation national survey. Two, three, four and five-bedroom homes will be available on the private market from next year and include properties from the housebuilder’s new collection. They focus on well-proportioned exteriors with a real sense of light and flow on the inside.
