Friend's tip-off leads to dream move into the perfect home for Devon family

A recommendation from her best friend took Jayne Cooves and her husband Matt to one of Devon’s newest communities, Sherford, where they found their dream home.

Looking for a home with more space, Jayne and Matt were living in Plymstock, with their two sons, Alfie (10) and Finn (7), and their 18-month-old Sprocker dog, Chester.

“My best friend had moved to Sherford and she recommended Bovis Homes,” says Jayne. “We visited the sales centre to find out more about the properties, and as soon as we entered, the sales advisors, David and Jesse, made us feel at ease.”

The family took a walk around the location with David and were blown away with the community spirit.

“There were people out walking their dogs and children playing, and everyone was really friendly – we immediately felt at home,” says Jayne.

The family selected the three-storey Heybrook house type which has four bedrooms, an open-plan family room, a stylish fitted kitchen and a spacious sitting room.

“As soon as we moved in, it felt like home,” says Jayne. “We’ve got so much room – there’s enough space for Matt to work from home and the bedrooms are massive. It’s exactly what we wanted, and the layout is perfect.

“Finn is on the autistic spectrum and we really needed more space for him. Our new home is brilliant. He’s got his bedroom at the top of the house which means he can go up there to get away from everything and can make as much noise as he likes.”

Jayne and Matt were welcomed into their new home by Jesse.

“Jesse was fantastic – she went through everything and was so patient with us,” says Jayne. “She really went above and beyond, and I can’t praise her highly enough. Throughout the whole process, she was always on the end of the phone and did anything she could to make the move smooth for us.”

Now settled into their new home, the family are excited to be part of the growing community and are looking forward to the new facilities which are set to open at Sherford, including shops, leisure facilities and play areas.

“Moving to a new house can be really difficult, but with Bovis Homes it was so easy. Jesse and David took the stress and worry away and now we’re in our dream home!”
