Help to Buy makes dream move possible for Winchester family

The Banerjee family had been looking to get onto the property ladder for more than two years, but when they came across Bovis Homes' Winchester Village location, everything fell into place.

Prosenjeet Banerjee, his wife Karuna, son Aarush, 9 and daughter Mayra, 3 became homeowners for the first time when they moved into their three-bedroom Gardiner housetype at Winchester, after taking advantage of the Government's Help to Buy Equity scheme.

"We had been looking to buy our first house for a while and were particularly keen to buy a new property. Winchester was the perfect location for us, but we had found the local house prices quite high" explained Prosenjeet. "When we saw the adverts for Bovis Homes at Winchester Village, including the Help to Buy scheme, we decided to look into it. We quickly realised that this would be the perfect option to buy our first home in Winchester."

With the Help to Buy equity loan, the Government lends buyers up to 20% of the cost of their newly built home, so they only need a 5% cash deposit and a 75% mortgage to make up the rest. Help to Buy is available at Bovis Homes locations across the country.
Settling on the three-bedroom Gardiner, Prosenjeet was immediately impressed with the quality of the home.

"The quality of the houses at Winchester Village was immediately apparent when we came to look around. The design is flawless and the use of space is very clever. The whole development felt like it had been designed for families like us."

The Gardiner comes with an open-plan kitchen with integrated appliances, a dining area with French doors opening onto the garden, an en-suite off the master bedroom and allocated parking.

With the support of Sales Advisors Tami, Fiona and Malcom, the Banerjee family took advantage of a special Bovis Homes' stress-free moving offer, which included help towards moving costs, and vouchers to help with decorating their new home.

Speaking of his experience with the Bovis Homes Sales team, Prosenjeet said: "The Sales team were angels. They made sure we had everything we needed to make our move as smooth as possible and, having found out it was my daughter's birthday on our moving-in date, they even arranged for her to be the one to officially 'open' our new home. We can't thank them enough."

And how is life now that the Banerjees are settled into their new home?

"We are starting to get to know our neighbours, who all seem very friendly, our children are enjoying playing outside in all the open space and we feel safe and happy here. We're looking forward to many more years at Winchester Village"
