Home buyer event helps Gloucestershire house hunters get moving

A local house builder is hosting a special Meet the Experts event, giving Gloucestershire home seekers the chance to find out more about the benefits of buying a new-build property and the purchase schemes which could help to get them moving.

Bovis Homes is inviting house hunters who are looking to buy in the county to the Cotswold De Vere Hotel near Cirencester on Friday 14th September to find out more about its Keble Fields location in Fairford. As well as discovering more about the new homes, visitors will also have a chance to win a spa day for two.

First-time buyers and existing home owners could take advantage of the Government’s Help to Buy – Equity Loan scheme, which is available exclusively for new-build properties. With the scheme, purchasers only need a 5% deposit and receive an equity loan from the Government for up to 20% of the property’s value, leaving just a 75% mortgage required.

For current home owners, the Smooth Move scheme can save purchasers time and money with the Bovis Homes team dealing with the estate agents on the seller’s behalf, as well as paying the fees when the old property is sold. With the Home Exchange scheme, Bovis Homes will purchase the buyer’s existing property, allowing them to avoid property chains and stay there until their new home is ready.
