Home hunters could find perfect new-build in Harnham after plans get green light

Home hunters around Salisbury could soon find their perfect property after Bovis Homes was granted outline planning permission for more than 600 homes.

Outline planning permission has been granted in Harnham
Bovis Homes – part of the newly-formed Vistry Group – has the green light for 640 properties in Harnham.

Work on the location, off Netherhampton Road, is set to start next year and Bovis Homes will spend more than £13million in the local community, including on education, the Salisbury Transport Strategy, a new doctors’ surgery and local air quality projects.

A total of 40 per cent of the new homes will be affordable housing. A new two-form entry primary school will also be built as part of the development.

Robert Winstone, senior strategic development manager at Bovis Homes, said: “We are delighted to have achieved this outline planning permission for much needed modern, affordable homes in Harnham.

“Bovis Homes looks forward to starting build work on this project to benefit the future of Harnham and the wider Salisbury area, both in terms of quality housing but also to help improve the community further with investment in schools, health, transport and the environment, including an open space and play areas.”

Bovis Homes’ new housing collection, which includes two to five-bedroom homes that have recently been designed and developed by the company, are named after British trees.

The new range focuses on well-proportioned exteriors with a real sense of light and flow on the inside. They include high ceilings, wide staircases and a focus on bringing the outside in, using cleverly placed windows and bifold doors to maximise space and light.

Bovis Homes also has four and five-bedroom properties for sale at the housebuilder’s popular location Longhedge Village, off McNamara Street, in Salisbury.
