House buyers in Wellingborough are snapping up new-build homes at young community

House buyers have been snapping up new-build properties at a young community in Wellingborough.

Families and couples are among the new home owners at Bovis Homes’ Wendelburie Rise location at Stanton Cross – where there have been 85 sales in 11 months.

Bovis Homes colleagues have been celebrating the success of the development, where the first buyers started moving in this May.

Bodybuilders and first-time buyers Ricky Richardson and Charlene Menzies recently finished unpacking boxes at their new Bovis Homes property at Wendelburie Rise, when 31-year-old Ricky shocked his other half by proposing.

The pair said the proposal, which Charlene accepted, was the perfect start to their new life at the location, which is the first part of the flagship Stanton Cross development, set to bring £1 billion worth of investment to the area.

Print worker Ricky, from Finedon, said: “Moving into our first home together at Stanton Cross was a monumental moment for us and I wanted to mark that by proposing to Charlene.

“Wendelburie Rise is the perfect location for us as we’re close to both sets of family and our work, plus Stanton Cross is starting to look great.

“There is a real sense of community already, we like our neighbours and we can’t wait for the schools, shops and park, that will all be nearby.”

Stanton Cross is a community that will provide 3,650 new homes, plus industrial, leisure, retail and office space, while delivering around 3,000 new jobs.
