Housebuilder colleagues beat Three Peaks Challenge in aid of charity for young people

Eight colleagues from Vistry Group’s South East region took on the Three Peaks Challenge in aid of the Chailey Heritage Foundation, surpassing their donation target by raising more than £8,000. The team’s aim was to raise £6,000 – which they have already comfortably beaten, with £8,400 in the pot so far. This physically demanding challenge involved climbing the highest points of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours, and the group completed the event, earlier this month, in 23 hours and 55 minutes! Oliver Bardsley, land trainee at Vistry Group and Challenge champion, spoke to us after the event and said: “We have all made it back in one piece after battling ice, snow, hail, gail force winds and of course…rain. We managed to complete it in 23 hours 55 minutes so cutting it fine is an understatement! “The team consisted of six walkers – Matt Shelley, Matthew Weed, Steffan Pederson, Alex Jordan, Amy Savage and myself – plus two drivers, Ginny James and Paul McGregor. “Two members of the team had done challenges similar to the Three Peaks before, so when the idea of doing a charity event came around, this seemed like a great way to fundraise. “It was certainly a challenging day, but the team spirit was fantastic and we are so proud of the amount we have raised. We know that Chailey Heritage Foundation will put the money to great use.” Chailey Heritage Foundation is a pioneering charity dedicated to enriching the lives of young people with complex physical disabilities and health needs.
