Colleagues from Vistry Group – which includes Bovis Homes and Linden Homes – and landscapers from TCL, part of IDVERDE Group, came together for a special fundraising event to raise money for The Milestone School in Gloucester.

TCL visited Vistry’s regional Cotswold office, Cleeve Hall, to present some ideas for site landscaping to housebuilder staff and to donate plants for them to purchase, with all funds raised going to The Milestone School.

The Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rated school, for pupils with special needs aged from two to 16, is based on Longford Lane and the donation will go towards converting an old therapy office into a bespoke new cookery and breakfast club room, with full disabled access. The housebuilder has also donated more than £20,000 in the past towards the Chamwell Centre Charity, which will go towards a hydrotherapy pool, therapy and sensory equipment and an all-ability play and sports area.

Nicola Goldsmith, regional sales and marketing director, said: “We have a very close relationship with The Milestone School, and have previously raised in excess of £20,000 to go towards the Chamwell Centre facility.

“During lockdown, we all experienced the importance of outdoor space and the positive impact that caring for plants can have on our mental health, so it was wonderful to be able to put together this event. Not only will the donation benefit The Milestone School, but also the well-being of our colleagues.

“We would like to thank TCL, part of IDVERDE Group, for their time and donation, as well as all the Vistry employees who purchased plants on the day, to support this very worthy cause. We look forward to working with The Milestone School more in the future and to see the school’s new cookery and breakfast club room come together.”

Diane Taylor, Principal at The Milestone School added: “Milestone are delighted to continue working closely with Vistry Group to develop exciting new facilities for children and young people with disabilities. We are very grateful for their on-going support and generosity."

The plant sale raised more than £335 for the school. Find out more about the school at https://themilestoneschool.co.uk/. For more information about the Chamwell Centre, visit www.chamwellcentre.org.uk. For more information about Vistry Group, visit www.vistrygroup.co.uk.
