Housebuilder set to launch brand new Gloucestershire community

Home seekers will soon be able to choose from a range of properties at a highly-anticipated new part of the community in Twigworth, Gloucester, as Bovis Homes has announced plans for a major development there, including education and leisure facilities.

The development will feature 471 private homes, including a range of two to four-bedroom houses, from the company’s eye-catching new housing range. In addition, 254 properties will be provided as affordable housing, including one and two-bed apartments and two to four-bed homes.

To support the community, Bovis Homes will also be providing nursery, primary and secondary education facilities within the location, as well as on and off-site sports and leisure facilities. It will also make highway improvements including the funding and provision of footpaths and public transport.

Mark Slater, land director at Bovis Homes, said: “We are excited to have the opportunity to bring our new housing collection to this attractive and convenient location.

“Local house hunters, whether they are searching on the private market or through affordable housing providers, will benefit from a wide choice of stunning homes, as well as a strong sense of community, with a school, games area and playing field all planned on site – and all within a popular, easy-to-reach location.”

The location is just two miles north of Gloucester City Centre and Gloucester Quays. Construction has already begun on a new roundabout on the A38 to service the development and detailed plans for the first phase of homes should be submitted in the autumn, with house building planned to start in spring 2020, with the first occupations later in the year.

The first homes from the collection were launched around the country earlier this year. The range consists of 28 brand-new Bovis Homes house types, all designed with a modern lifestyle in mind, including open-plan living areas.
