An ambitious sales advisor from Australia who now works at a national housebuilder in Fremington says he loves the Devon lifestyle.

Tony Longbottom, based at Bovis Homes’ Water’s Edge location in Fremington, said the Tarka Trail, coastline and the village’s character, history and parks, were drawing home buyers to the area.

Tony has worked in housebuilding for 11 years and moved to nearby Tiverton 5 years ago. Water's Edge, popular with first-time buyers, families and retirees, overlooks the River Taw and boasts great views over the surrounding countryside.

Tony, who grew up in Perth and has worked his way up the career ladder in the industry, said: “Water’s Edge is so pretty. It’s hidden behind a church and park and there are old walls and Grade II-listed buildings. It’s so aesthetically pleasing and a wonderful place to live.

“I love it here, it’s quiet and relaxed but there are so many activities to do, especially if you’re into cycling and running. Being by the coast too, is beautiful and it’s a great place to raise a family.

“Perth is a bustling city, the pace of life is much quicker and of course, it is a lot less green. The housing market was much faster there, it was all about speed and you were working around the clock. But in Fremington I love building relationships and discussing our brilliant house types.

“At Water’s Edge, we’re extremely family and customer-focused and are always considering what is best for home buyers here.”

Tony has four children, Ashlee, 18 and Hayli, 14, who live in Australia and Alice, 7 and Ben, 6, in Tiverton.

Having also worked in Ottery Saint Mary and Cranbrook, Tony is excited about the options for house hunters at Water’s Edge, where Help to Buy – Equity Loan, Home Exchange and Smooth Move are offered.
