View our video: A husband and wife team have joined forces to form a successful working relationship in Wells, where they are proudly building and selling quality homes at a new-build location.

John Olds, based at Bovis Homes’ Priory Fields development in Wells, and wife Jade have fallen in love with the city – where the housebuilder is sponsoring the 2019 Food Festival next month.

John, 30, said he had a great working relationship with Jade, a sales advisor at Priory Fields, and that customer feedback was extremely positive at the location, where properties from Bovis Homes’ new collection are being built.

John, who joined the housing industry when he left school at 16, said: “The relationship between the build and sales teams here at Wells is very good. It has to be! I have the privilege of working with my wife and we make a very good team. We stay on top of everything because we’re always discussing the location and what needs to be done, outside of working hours.

“We’re really proud of our new homes collection here at Priory Fields. The quality is great and we’re getting some brilliant customer feedback.”

Not only do the couple work together at a Bovis Homes location, they also live in one – called High View, a few miles up the A39 in Paulton – along with their five-year-old daughter Eva. They also previously worked together there, and Jade’s mum was so impressed she moved just around the corner to live in a property built by her son-in-law!

There has been a real mix of purchasers at Priory Fields, from first-time buyers to retirees, attracted by the homes and the range of purchasing options, such as the Government’s Help to Buy – Equity Loan scheme and Bovis Homes’ Home Exchange initiative.

Home Exchange sees the housebuilder purchasing the customer's current property, which means they can avoid all those estate agent fees and time-consuming, stress-building house chains. It also means that purchasers can say in their current house until their new home is ready.

To part-exchange their home, a customer’s current property must be valued at no more than 75 per cent of the new Bovis Home they wish to purchase. Bovis Homes will arrange for the buyer's property to be valued, then make them an offer based on the valuation.

Properties in Bovis Homes’ new collection are named after British trees and focus on well-proportioned exteriors with a real sense of light and flow on the inside.
