Key workers move near Royal Shrewsbury Hospital into housebuilder’s final family homes

- 26 May 20

Key workers in Shrewsbury hoping to live by the town’s hospital can purchase a family home from a national housebuilder’s final phase – and use a special scheme to support them.

Bovis Homes' Bowbrook Meadows in Shrewsbury
Bovis Homes’ – part of the newly-formed Vistry GroupBowbrook Meadows has four and five-bedroom homes, available with the key workers scheme, right across from Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

The location, off Mytton Oak Road, has plenty of open-space landscapes, including a play area, countryside views and sits close to the town’s parks.

Louise Macrae, regional marketing manager at Bovis Homes, said: “These are the perfect family homes for hospital or other key workers, close to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, and with great surroundings including plenty of green space, views and new walkways.

“All our four and five-bedroom homes offer great space for modern lifestyles, with all members of the household in mind, including areas to play, work and socialise.

“Our sales centres are open by appointment only, so please get in touch if you want to find out more and visit Bowbrook Meadows for your dream, family home.”

The scheme for key workers includes £2,500 for home buyers to spend as they wish on their new property, plus £450 of John Lewis vouchers.

House types at Bowbrook Meadows include the four-bedroom Wimborne, Canterbury, Montpellier and Durham and the five-bedroom Oxford.

The Oxford offers great living space with stylish and flexible areas suitable for the whole family. Families can enjoy the view to the garden from the dining area and the spacious living room that connects through – opening the space up to its best potential. Those who work at home can make use of the study room.

The Wimborne, Canterbury, Montpellier and Durham also provide spacious layouts for modern family living, including open-plan kitchens and French doors to the back garden.

All have large kitchen spaces, reception rooms, en suites and a 10-year NHBC Buildmark warranty. Prices on four-bedroom homes start from £299,995. Stamp duty offers are available on certain homes.

Bovis Homes is looking to recognise the army of volunteers in the county who have recently signed up to help the NHS, by offering them a special house buying package too, which will run until the end of the year.

The housebuilder already runs an attractive purchasing package for key workers, which has now been extended to include all those who have signed up for the recent NHS volunteer scheme – as well as all those newly-classified by the Government as key workers in the battle against the coronavirus.

The company has been looking to support the national effort to combat COVID-19, actively encouraging staff who are not at work to volunteer, and helping to organise collections of critical medical kit to hospitals in different parts of the country.

Now Bovis Homes is offering this special deal which includes £500 off for every £25,000 of the purchase price and flooring up to the value of £3,000 – and as a new-build property these could be combined with access to the Government’s own popular Help to Buy 5% deposit scheme.

The extended scheme is in place for the rest of 2020 which means that when restrictions are lifted and the country is in a happier place, hopefully sooner rather than later, those who were part of the effort will still be able to benefit and buy a new home with these added money-saving features.

The first step in Bovis Homes' safety drive to meet Government guidelines and welcome visitors back to developments, has been to introduce an appointment-only booking system to reinforce social distancing measures and limit the number of people in the sales office or car park at the same time.

Only two visitors from the same household are allowed on each visit, and if customers arrive early, they are encouraged to stay in their car until the appointment time.

Once inside, there is clear signage and marking to enable social distancing, plus screens and hand sanitisers to provide added physical protection.
