Lost village comes back to life

- 22 Aug 17

Named after the long-deserted Northamptonshire village, Bovis Homes is creating a new Glassthorpe community with the launch of its new location.

Bovis Homes' new Glassthorpe Grange development is situated close to the site of the lost village, to the north east of Flore. It was mentioned in the Domesday Book as Glassthorpehill, and had a recorded population of six people, but by the early 18th Century it was documented as having been 'long depopulated'.

"We're bringing Glassthorpe back to life!" says Regional Marketing Manager, Heather Suffield. "We've already had lots of people ask us about the name and it's important to us that it has a strong local and historical connection."

This much-anticipated location is opening the doors to its five-bedroom Ascot show home on Saturday 26th August, giving the public a chance to see the style and quality of the new properties.

"We're very excited to be able to show visitors our stunning new Glassthorpe Grange show home," says Heather. "With a variety of house types available, it's well worth popping along this weekend to find out more. We are also giving away a case of champagne on completion to anyone who reserves this weekend to help with the celebrations!

"With a Bovis Home, you can get so much more. What others call extras, we include as standard. For example, features such as the hob, cooker, dishwasher and fridge-freezer are included within the price."

The Ascot includes a large open-plan kitchen and family area with French doors leading out into the garden. The sitting room is bright and airy with bi-fold doors along one wall which goes out onto a patio area. There is a separate study, dining room and cloakroom. Upstairs there is a family bathroom and two of the bedrooms include en suites and dressing rooms.

To help buyers secure their new home at Glassthorpe Grange, Bovis Homes offers a variety of purchase assistance scheme. For instance, Help to Buy is a 75% Government-backed shared equity scheme for new-build properties only requiring a 5% deposit, while with Smooth Move Bovis Homes will deal with the estate agents on your behalf, even paying the fees when your house is sold.
