Lottie settling in as Sherford's first baby!

- 14 Nov 17

The South West's newest community has just welcomed its newest arrival, with the birth of the first Sherford baby!

Little Lottie Rose Robinson clocked in at 8lbs 3oz at Plymouth's Derriford Hospital and is now back at home in Sherford with mum Kat, dad Matt and 11-year-old twin brother and sister Joshua and Hermione.

"Lottie was 15 days late and kept us waiting," said Kat. "We are over the moon with our new arrival and it's nice to be part of something so special for Sherford."

The Robinsons moved into a new Bovis Home back in June this year and are now looking forward to bringing up Lottie and the twins in the exciting environment of a developing new community.

"Work will be starting on Sherford's first primary school soon, and it's amazing to think that this is where Lottie will be going to school," said Kat. "We are also really excited about the forthcoming sports centre, as we are a very active family, and the development of the high street looks amazing so we can't wait for that, especially for a local shop to get those nappies - and wine of course!"

The arrival of Lottie in Sherford has certainly caused a stir in the Bovis Homes sales office, where the team have got to know the Robinsons well this year, and monitored Kat's progress intently!

"We're so delighted to be welcoming Lottie into the Sherford family," said sales advisor Jesse Chevrolle. "Now the community is taking shape we are seeing a number of milestones - but having our first baby arrive back at the development is definitely one of the most exciting!"

Choosing Sherford as a place to bring up their children was an easy decision for Matt, a regional manager at Go Outdoors, and Kat, an expert on the local property scene as the branch manager for Stratton Creber Countrywide estate agents. She brought that knowledge to bear when making the move for a four-bed 'Heybrook' house-type at Sherford, which will afford her growing family plenty of space.

"We wanted to buy a new home and this was a great location for my husband's job," explained Kat. "We loved the unique style of the houses at Sherford, particularly the high ceilings in traditional Georgian style."

Matt agreed, adding: "Being on three floors also means we have lots of room for the kids to have their own space and also have family time in the main room on a Saturday night watching X Factor!

"We have good parking and a spacious garage and it feels really secure as well, which was important.

"The experience has been really good so far.  We did have some items that needed fixing or attention, as you would expect, but they were sorted out in the agreed time."

And on Sherford itself, Matt said: "It has been quite amazing how quickly the town is taking shape already after only a year.  The consortium organised a housewarming event for all the residents to meet which was great. All that is missing now is a pub!"
