Young couples and families are snapping up properties at a new-build location in Buckinghamshire, which is proving especially popular with people who need to commute into London.

And it is the Government-backed Help to Buy – Equity Loan scheme that is helping many into their dream homes at Bovis Homes’ Aston Brook location in the village of Aston Clinton.

With the Help to Buy - Equity Loan scheme, buyers – both first-timers and current home owners – need just a five per cent cash deposit, with the Government providing an equity loan of up to 20 per cent. They then need to secure up to a 75 per cent mortgage, which opens the door to more competitive lending rates.

Denise Moulding, Bovis Homes sales advisor at Aston Brook, said: “Aston Clinton is a very popular village with beautiful rural surroundings, and lots of families and couples are moving this way. Help to Buy is proving a real game changer for some when it comes to securing their dream home here.

“The great commuter links to London are one factor in the location’s popularity but there are also the lovely Chiltern Hills, which are so beautiful and right on the doorstep. There are a couple of lovely little shops in the village too.”

Home hunters visiting Aston Brook have a variety of three, four and five-bedroom properties to choose from, with prices starting from £404,995. Among those, there are now just a trio of four-bedroom Montpellier house types left at the popular development, which is under one hour away from north London.

“The Montpellier house type is fantastic; it’s very light and airy with plenty of windows,” says Denise. “It’s also got a great, big sitting room with a lovely bay window.”

Home buyers in Aston Clinton can get to London via the A41 and M1 or by train from nearby Tring or Aylesbury. The train from Tring to London Euston can take about 25 minutes, while Aylesbury to London Marylebone is about 50 minutes.

There are also just two four-bedroom Canterbury house types left to buy at Aston Brook, plus a selection of five-bedroom properties.

As well as Help to Buy, Bovis Homes’ own part-exchange is also proving popular.

With Home Exchange, Bovis Homes will purchase the mover's current property, meaning they avoid those fees and complicated house chains.
