Neighbourhood Watch scheme in Kent receives welcome boost from housebuilder
- 15 Dec 20
Peters Village housebuilder, Bovis Homes – part of Vistry Group, has donated to the local Neighbourhood Watch scheme. The housebuilder, whose new development Osprey Rise is located in Peters Village, Kent, donated £250 to the scheme, to be put towards resources for the community-led group. Osprey Rise, has a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes available, including apartments and houses. The properties come from Bovis Homes’ latest collection. Speaking about the donation, Steve Rimmington, the Peters Village Neighbourhood Watch scheme coordinator, said: “Neighbourhood Watch is about bringing people closer together by developing stronger community spirit. Schemes promote confidence within communities and improve the quality of life in the area. “Peters Village Neighbourhood Watch aims to create a community spirit which values togetherness, friendship and support. We work together to create a living environment where all feel safe both out in the community and within their own home. “The kind donation from Bovis Homes will help support, expand and maintain the Peters Village Neighbourhood Watch scheme over the next couple of years. The funds will go towards the purchase of signs, stickers and newsletters. We are very grateful for the contribution. “We would invite any existing or new residents to join the Peters Village Neighbourhood Watch scheme too.” Millie Groves, regional marketing manager at Bovis Homes, added: “Peters Village is a fantastic community and with our Osprey Rise development located here, we are very pleased to be able to support a cause so important to residents. We are sure it will help strengthen the wonderful neighbourhood that already exists, as it continues to grow.” Peters Village brings together a consortium of housebuilders, including Bovis Homes, and the location recently won a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the annual First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards. Residents there will benefit from a brand-new primary school, a medical centre, plus shops and a village hall. This as well as enjoying great transport links and beautiful countryside close by. Neighbourhood Watch is a partnership between the police and local communities supported by other local partners, in this case including Kent County Council community wardens, Kent Trading Standards and others. Its aim is to help people protect themselves and their property, and to reduce the fear of crime. To find out more about Osprey Rise, visit the Bovis Homes website.
