New development in Filton reaches major milestone

- 13 Sep 19

New footbridge at Bovis Homes' Charlton Hayes development in Filton
Bovis Homes' popular development at Charlton Hayes in Filton has just seen the addition of a much-anticipated footbridge.

Weighing approximately 25 tonnes, the footbridge was lifted into position using a 450 tonne Liebherr mobile crane, with the Highways Department overseeing the lifting operation.

The £200,000 footbridge project was included in part of the development’s initial plans when permission was granted for hundreds of new homes on the northern side of Hayes Way.

Supriya Ray, managing director of Bovis Homes’ Western region, said: “We are delighted with how the work went to deliver this latest piece of infrastructure to Charlton Hayes.

“The bridge will provide safe access to and from the development, away from the major road intersections and roundabouts.

“We hope residents will be pleased to see the footbridge in place and that it will be of great use to them. Its completion is certainly a major milestone for the development.”

The footbridge provides safe access to the pedestrian crossing on Hayes Way, creating an easy link from the location’s new homes to the new supermarket and future airfield development.

Bovis Homes’ development at Charlton Hayes is ideally situated close to great shopping, cinemas and a whole host of leisure activities. To find out more about the homes available, visit the Bovis Homes website.
