New home is pretty as a picture for Nicole

As well as gaining a new home, 10-year-old Nicole Collins also managed to find two new pals when she and her parents moved to Whitehouse Park in Milton Keynes.

Nicole, mum Mariola and dad Jason, previously lived in nearby Two Mile Ash and watched the creation of this new part of the community with interest. With the family welcoming a new addition later this year, the new homes arrived at a great time for the Collins family, as they were looking for a home which would provide more space for Nicole and their new baby boy. They decided to find out more about the new homes and upsize their two-bedroom house.

They first met Bovis Homes' sales advisors, Sharon Eddy and Hazel Clarke, when they visited the sales centre and had a look around the show home.

"Sharon and Hazel were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them. The site manager has been great and more than helpful dealing with the small remedial issues we had," says Jason, a Business Manager for a waste management company.

The sales advisors made a big impression on Nicole, a student at Two Mile Ash School, and since moving into her new home has been a regular visitor to the sales centre.

"Nicole absolutely adores Sharon and Hazel," says Mariola. "She often pops in to see them in the sales centre.

"When she was ill and off school, she decided she wanted to do some art and draw a picture for the ladies in the sales centre. She wanted to give it to them straight away and was so excited to take it over!"

"We wanted to buy a new-build home and had a look at all the properties which were being built in the area and liked that Bovis Homes were traditional build," says Jason. "Another benefit was that all the extras were included as standard, which can catch you out with other new-builds."

The family were initially looking to buy a three-bedroom property, but when the next phase of homes was released, discovered the four-bedroom Wimborne house type.

"We realised we could get much more space for our money and an additional bedroom," says Jason. "It was an end-of-terrace home and we really liked the layout, it really suited us and made the most of the floor space."

The three-storey Wimborne has a large sitting room and dining area, with French doors leading out into the garden and a separate kitchen. On the first floor there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom, and on the top floor is the master bedroom, with an en suite and fitted wardrobes.

The Collins family used the Help to Buy equity loan, which is where the Government provides a loan for up to 20% of the home's value, meaning only a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage is needed by the buyers.

"The whole process was very smooth and straight forward," says Jason. "The solicitors which were recommended by Bovis Homes were excellent too.

"Nicole loves her new big bedroom and we've got a lot of open space around us, so she's able to play outside," says Jason. "Buying our home has been a great experience and a real pleasure. The home had a fantastic finish and the little touches, like the welcome pack, was really lovely."

"Our home is just perfect," says Mariola. "I keep saying that it is my forever home - I love it!"
