North Kent Disabled Foundation receives welcome boost from local housebuilder

North Kent Disabled Foundation (NKDF) has received a welcome donation from local housebuilder Bovis Homes – which will support disabled people visiting the day centre.

The Darenth-based foundation runs a diverse range of activities at its centre for the disabled, ranging from arts and crafts to computing and board games, and Bovis Homes presented £500 towards aiding this work.

Keith Reddy, NKDF Trustee, said: “North Kent Disabled Foundation is extremely grateful to Bovis Homes for the kind donation and I would like to offer my thanks on behalf of the members and trustees.

“This donation will go towards maintaining our minibuses that collect and return members to our day centre in Darenth. Maintenance is increasingly expensive and with all our other costs escalating every year, we are becoming more and more reliant upon generous philanthropic organisations such as Bovis Homes supporting us in this way.”

Maria Maxwell, Bovis Homes regional marketing manager, added: “It is wonderful to be able to support such a worthy cause, that provides support to so many in North Kent, especially with many of our developments located in the area.

“The foundation does amazing work for the disabled community here and we couldn’t be happier to make this donation to NKDF.”
