Bovis Homes' new Twigworth Green development
Bovis Homes has received planning consent for the first 79 homes of a new £195million development of 725 homes in Twigworth.

Twigworth Green will include 471 private units from the housebuilder’s new collection as well as 254 affordable housing properties.

Nigel Lush, technical director at Bovis Homes, said: “We are delighted to announce that Bovis Homes has been granted planning consent to the Reserved Matters application for the first 79 homes at Twigworth Green.

“This first phase will offer 43 two to four-bedroom homes for private sale, along with 36 one to four-bed affordable homes. Throughout the planning process representatives from our Design and Engineering teams attended regular meetings with the Parish Council to communicate our proposals and to answer questions from neighbouring residents.

“We have also engaged proactively with the local authority and the necessary statutory consultees to negotiate a successful design which achieves the aims of all interested parties.”

Archaeological investigation works are due to commence at the site in the next few weeks, dependant on weather conditions. Construction works for the first ten plots will begin in April.

House hunters can expect to visit a new sales centre at the location in the late autumn with the first phase of the development featuring everything from two-bed apartments to three and four-bedroom homes.

Within the location, Bovis Homes will also build a number of facilities to support the local community. As part of its section 106 financial contributions of £7.62m, they will provide nursery, primary and secondary education as well as on and off-site sports and leisure facilities. It will also make highway improvements including the funding and provision of footpaths and public transport.

Twigworth Green is conveniently located less than three miles from the centre of Gloucester, less than seven miles from Cheltenham town centre and only a ten-minute drive from Junction 11 of the M5, ideal for commuters.
