Sawtry residents celebrate Halloween with street party

- 05 Nov 21

Staff and residents at a new housing development in Sawtry came together at the weekend to get into the Halloween spirit. Residents of Bovis Homes’ Judith Gardens development, off Gidding Road, enjoyed a street party on Saturday 30 October to celebrate the spooky season and get to know each other better. As well as putting on a barbecue and enjoying some traditional Halloween games, residents were also judged for their fancy-dress costumes and house decorations. Helen Warby, sales consultant at Judith Gardens, said: “The Halloween party was great fun and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. All the residents chipped in to make sure it was a special experience – especially for the children. “A lot of the residents at Judith Gardens have moved from further afield, such as Kent and Essex, so they don’t know many people around the area. This get-together proved to be a really nice way of encouraging everyone to integrate. “There was already a nice community spirit here, but now it feels even stronger. We also made sure to invite the buyers who will shortly be moving into their new homes, and it was wonderful to see everyone getting along so well and making new friends.” Bovis Homes, part of Vistry Group, is building 295 properties at Judith Gardens, consisting of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes. So far, 32 houses have been sold. Nic Chapman, sales and marketing director for Vistry East Midlands, said: “It’s lovely to see such a strong community forming at Judith Gardens, especially as the development launched during the pandemic when people couldn’t get together. “I’m glad Halloween looked more normal this year and that the residents got to enjoy themselves and get into the spooky spirit!” To find out more, visit bovishomes.co.uk.
