Shinfield school receives boost from local housebuilder

- 23 Mar 21

Vistry Group – which includes Bovis Homes and Linden Homes – has made a welcome donation to a new primary school in Shinfield, Reading. Alder Grove Church of England Primary School, which opened on the Shinfield Meadows development in September 2020, will use the contribution of £760 towards the children’s playground. Situated in a picturesque village setting but just five miles away from the bustling town of Reading, both Bovis Homes and Linden Homes are building on the development too. Alix Laflin, regional marketing manager, said: “Alder Grove school is a wonderful new facility for residents at Shinfield Meadows who are moving into their Bovis or Linden Home. We are thrilled to be able to support the school and this growing community.” Philip Theobald, head of school at Alder Grove, added: “We have a remarkable outdoor space for our pupils and this donation will be used for playground markings to enhance the outdoor play experiences for the children in our school. “Encouraging our children to play outdoors is essential to us as a school. We know the positive impact a healthy and active lifestyle can have for our children and we are very grateful for the donation.” Bovis Homes’ Shinfield Meadows location features properties from the housebuilder’s latest collection of homes. House hunters can book an appointment to view the new four-bedroom Aspen show home. The new homes from both housebuilders are situated just a few minutes’ walk from amenities including a Co-op, Post Office, two local pubs, and a florist. The location is also less than five miles away from Reading train station and offers easy access to the M4 and M3 for commuters.
