Clark Rutland, a Shrivenham-based site manager working for Vistry Group at Bovis Homes’ Townsend Place development, is celebrating after receiving a prestigious national award for housebuilding quality.

Clark, a big Swindon Town fan, won the National House Building Council’s Pride in the Job Quality Award, after being selected from more than 11,000 inspected sites across the UK.

Speaking about his award, Clark said: “When I heard the news that I had won, it felt fantastic - I can only describe it as feeling as if Swindon had won the FA Cup! I work with a fantastic team at Townsend Place, and this award is thanks to their effort too. I am very proud of what we have achieved.”

Since the launch of the site in Shrivenham, Clark has demonstrated incredible dedication, passion, commitment and leadership.

Pride in the Job, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, marks the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality. After 12 months of rigorous judging, these first round winners excelled and will now go on to compete for the Seal of Excellence Awards and Regional Winner titles.

Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of Vistry, said: "This is fantastic for Clark, and we are delighted and proud that he has achieved this prestigious accolade.

“This success is a testament to all his hard work in what have latterly been extremely challenging times for the industry and country. We look forward to celebrating his accomplishment, and that of his team, as he now goes forward to the next stage of recognition for his build quality achievements.”
